Crossword Puzzle Activity

Last week in our Ethnic Relation class, our lecturer, En. Ahmad Bin Ibrahim had gave us an activity for us to do. This activity is called The Crossword Puzzle. What we have to do is to find the 12 words of the Basic Concept of Ethnic Relations in that piece of paper which En.Ahmad had given to us. There is 2 students in a group and we have to find the words before the class ends.

For me, my group partner is Lee How Cheh. Although the alphabets are confusing us, we manage to find words by words and finally we found a total of 12 words. After rechecked, we decided to call En.Ahmad to check our words. We thought we could be the first to solve it, unfortunately, we ended up with 2 mistakes. Many groups also ended up with mistakes, and lastly before the class ends, a group had been declared the winner.

Although we did not become the winner, we were happy and satisfied with this activity. I can see En.Ahmad is satisfied with the students' performance and he leaved the class happily.

An extra homework that En.Ahmad given to us during the activity and has been completed.

Why call Get The Bird

ETHNIC RELATIONS – A compulsory subject for all students in University Malaysia Pahang. Why this subject is compulsory for all UMP students? I think it is because we are now staying in Malaysia, a country which contain of few races in the world. So, to make our country more unite and peace, we have the responsibility to learn this subject to know more the cultures among these races.

Our lecturer, Mr. AHMAD asked us to create a blog and share all the things that we have learn during this lesson. And my group decided to create a blog with name “GET THE BIRD”. And i am sure many of you feel curious with this name. So, now I am going to show you the motive for us to choose this name.

Get The bird stand for the meaning of booed or taunt someone. And this word is specially present for those extremists in our country. More than fifty year for our country independence. We cannot stand onside to have an extreme mind and we should proud with our special several culture and religion in our country and show to the people around the world.

I think this will be a good experience for us to having this subject during our student life. Because I am sure we can know more about Ethnic and for us to apply on our life time, so that we can build up a harmony and peace country by tolerant each other. Let’s peace!

First Intro...

Good day everyone. Thanks for visiting our blog.
For the first post, we would just like to make an introduction for this blog.
The main focus in our group is to further our knowledge in the community we are living with now.
Different race and religion will have different thoughts and beliefs and which in the end leads to this word 'peace and harmony'.
In this multi race country, living together with different races is not impossible.
For instant, the chinese has their own way of living while the malays will have theirs. This two races learn the culture from each other.
You can see a chinese sells nasi lemak while a malay sells pau(a type of steamed bun).
Ethnic relation is relations between people of different ethnic groups. Many people just believes that we can get along if we just try.
Ethnic conflicts are important issues, impeding effective relations and social harmony. Conflict can create a war. So, how can we get along better with others?
Together we learn the importance of ethnic relations which can leads to peace and harmony in this community.

Our group member consist of
Ivan Kuek Vee Chun as the leader, followed by Mohammad Syawaludin Syafiq B Hassan , Chong Soon Woei, Chou Yong Lee and Goh Swee Tian.
